SUMMARY:Movies on the Lawn: “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1941)

SUMMARY:Movies on the Lawn: "Far from the Madding Crowd"
DESCRIPTION:Share an evening under the stars as we screen the costume drama Far from the Madding Crowd (1967). This film version of Thomas Hardy’s classic 1874 Victorian-era novel with the same name is set in an idyllic rural setting. The serene place contrasts dramatically with a story of emotional tension\, love\, and betrayal. The story of one woman and three very different men who become part of her life reveals the demands and limits of Victorian social codes. With an all-star cast featuring Julie Christie\, Terence Stamp\, Peter Finch\, and Alan Bates\, Far from the Madding Crowd examines personalities and passions in nineteenth-century rural England. \nThis screening of Far from the Madding Crowd will take place Friday\, November 20\, at Heritage House\, 8193 Magnolia Avenue\, Riverside\, CA 92504. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. Concessions available at the Heritage House Snack Shack (CASH ONLY). Limited on site and street parking available.
