The Museum of Riverside collects, preserves, and interprets the natural history of the Riverside region. Our collection spans epochs, ecoregions, and taxa to provide a complete picture of our nearby natural world.
Vertebrate Zoology
Reptiles and amphibians, fish, mammals, and birds including study skins, life mounts, fluid-preserved specimens, and other preparations.
Invertebrate Zoology
Insects, arachnids and other arthropods as well as a large shell collection and collections of worms, mollusks, and their relatives.
Geology
Rocks, minerals, precious stones and gems, and ores.
Paleontology
Fossils of vertebrate and invertebrate animals, plants, and impressions from over 500 million to a few thousand years old.
Clark Herbarium
Our Clark Herbarium houses over 7,000 objects including pressed specimens, lichens, bark, and pinecones.
Live Collection
Our live collection reflects our local fauna and includes snakes, lizards, and a variety of insects, spiders, and other arthropods.
